The brass has been lovingly hand polished and double-coated with a sealant to prevent tarnishing & reacting to skin. Beware of other sellers selling raw brass jewelry; raw brass will tarnish quickly and is difficult to keep clean!

The antique hand design is a shell back brass stamping made from an actual Victorian-era mold! The ear wires are gold-filled. Gold-filled jewelry is manufactured with a precious metal outer layer which does not tarnish or flake off like gold plating does, so it is much safer for people with nickel or other base metal allergies/sensitivities. The earring rings are hand-soldered on -- no glue has been used in the making of these earrings!
